Humanity’s current mandate

The people of Earth are at a critical juncture where we make the decision of whether we will continue with the status quo, or forge a future that works for us all. Doing our inner work will make the difference of whether we choose what's right versus not.

What is inner work?

There are many different understandings and thoughts on what inner work is so let’s take a moment to level set with a definition of ‘inner work’.

'Inner work' is the regular activity, the evolving human must engage in, whereby they observe, examine, and/or neutralize, the mundane occurrences and interactions in their lives, which may be impacting their ability to access, or harness, their core self.

Why is it important to do one’s inner work?

Doing one’s inner work keeps the energetic pathways between the individual (their core self) and their world clear, or clear enough, to facilitate the fluid creation of what they desire. Simply put, the creation process is an energetic one that begins in the mind (usually as thought) and ends with us experiencing whatever it is that we’ve created.

What can clog up our creative process are those mundane situations we experience such as traumas, disappointments, self-doubt, bullying, anger, hurt, etcetera, that we carry with us and often never do anything about. As we continue to collect more and more of these creative-process-clogging experiences, we diminish our ability to readily create those experiences we desire to have. Thus, if we are lucky enough to create desirable experiences, they tend to be slow-moving toward us. Since our desired experiences are slow-moving toward us, we spend a lot of time experiencing what we don’t desire and, therefore, often find ourselves highly frustrated with life.

When we collect and carry traumas during childhood, we tend to carry those for the rest of our lives, which impacts our life’s trajectory. Most of us are walking around with our creative pathways having been clogged since childhood, which means we’ve generally lived most of our lives experiencing that which we do not desire. These undesirable lives we are living give us limited options of how authentically we can show up in the world, as well as, how big our dreams (or creations) can be.

When inner work is incorporated into one’s life on a regular basis, one is able to clean up the energies that are clogging up their creative pathways. As those energies are cleared, one is able to live more in their authenticity and, eventually, what they create looks more and more like what they truly desire. What they create becomes authentic to who they truly are because they were their authentic self when they created it. You can only create authenticity from an authentic source. If your input into your creation is authentic, then the output of your creation will be authentic to you and truly represent your desires.

Who should do inner work?

Anyone who desires to live in their authenticity should do their inner work. This statement seems simple, but for a lot of people, it is quite complicated. People may say that they want to live life authentically but have an underlying trepidation about what that truly means in action. Living authentically means letting the world see and know you for who you truly are. If there are parts of yourself you would rather keep hidden, or if you are walking through life masked as someone else, living authentically becomes a terrifying prospect. Doing one’s inner work cleans up the shame, trepidation, and fear the inauthentic person may be carrying. This then opens up the ability to create their life from an authentic place rather than an inauthentic one. Eventually, creating their life from an authentic space leads to experiencing the life one truly desires and the life of one’s highest good.

When should one do their inner work?

There is no best time to begin one’s inner work and it is highly advised that one should begin their inner work journey when they become aware of the concept. Life has a tendency of sending us assistance when we need it, but it is often we who ignore such help when it comes along. If one would benefit from doing their inner work, they may find that they come across the concept in some form or fashion multiple times throughout their lives. They are well-advised to take either of those opportunities to begin their inner work, and the sooner they start, the better the trajectory of their life will be.

How does one do their inner work?

There are no steadfast rules on how one should go about doing their inner work. Different modalities have been introduced over time such as meditation, shadow work, journaling, therapy, and tapping, among other things. The options are varied and scattered and it takes effort to weed through them to determine what might be useful. As one gains more control over their own mind and ways of being, they will likely create their own methods that work for them. In the meantime, if one is seeking to do their inner work in structured and simplified ways, they can look into what we have been creating over at www.InnerWorkMadeSimple.com.
